About FadeScore

We rank barbers with a transparent FadeScore, real typical prices, and filters for hair texture and cuts—so you can choose a chair with confidence. Scores are not pay-to-play.

Skilled shops deserve to show up when people search—not only whoever buys the loudest ads. See how FadeScore is calculated for the full formula, verification, and what owners can do to improve a listing.

Hair texture on FadeScore

Common charts (for example HairCode's guide) use types 1–4 for curl pattern and A / B / Cfor how tight the curl is within that type (A = widest, C = tightest). It's a practical shorthand—your hair can vary by section or treatment. We use it only to match you with barbers who list relevant experience, not to rank one texture above another.

Simplified hair pattern types one through fourFour columns show strand patterns from straight lines, S waves, spiral curls in three tightnesses, and tight coils. Search filters collapse this into three options: Straight (type 1), Wavy (type 2), and Textured / coily (types 3 and 4). Barbers pick where they're strongest so lists stay useful.

Scores, data & your listing

  • FadeScore blends synced reviews, volume, local price context, and a small verification step that only applies when a shop is explicitly marked unverified—then the score is 10% lower than the blend. Any other case (including not yet flagged) uses the full blend. Details live on How we work.
  • We don't host reviews ourselves—ratings and counts come from platforms we sync. Wrong info? Barber intake helps us fix listings and is the path for shops to confirm services, contact details, and verification.
